good questions, valerie. i lived with a man for almost four years who was an
avowed athiest. i practiced my spirituality silently..he did seem to open up
towards alan watts when i listend to a radio show that would play his
talks..
and my mediatation...but ultimately our energy was too ...opposing for the
relationship to be healthy for me. i started to feel the effects of his
constant verbal cynacism and disbelief.....turning brown aroudn the
edges...it became a toxic enviroment..
i left the relationship...but i must say, i learned much about myself and
other people. i learned things from that experience. i tend to think we
shouldn't "try" to change people...but if we are clear in our intentions of
what we would like it our life(which Goddess knows much better than we do),
we will attract just that. i wasn't clear on what i wanted..and i got a
(with this guy) a pretty close manifestation of my hazy desires.
i'm at a point now where i leave it in the hands of Spirit to provide what
is best for me...and i've discovered that feeling whole without depending on
another person to provide that wholeness is a beautiful gift..a state of
being, with no longing. It is freedom for me..no icky stomach midsection
feelings..just feeling fine..:)
