The latest study from the Journal of the American Medical Association shows that
prostatectomy
fails to prolong life by even 1 month versus no treatment at all.
External beam radiation therapy & hormone therapy, the other 2 treatments have a worse
outcome than surgery.
More than 50% of all radiation patients become impotent. With hormone therapy, impotence is
almost certain.
Yet health care literature has us Americans so fearful of prostate cancer men are led to
slaughter like
lambs at the first hint of trouble. Unless one has distinct prostrate symptoms, evidence
throughout the world
indicates you should avoid the PSA & all the medical palaver that follows a positive test.
Facts you should know: Despite what some medical sphincters say (especially in the American
Cancer Society) the US Preventative Services Task Force, the Canadian Task Force on the
Periodic Health Examination, and the International Union Against Cancer all recommend
against
routine prostrate testing. Sweden has the best approach to microscopic or localized
prostrate cancers-
they leave them the hell alone.
