Hi Mia & K-list !

I agree, occult practices, when done for the gathering and display of power
seem to have an essentially macho-like quality to them. Something like "Hey,
look at me and my black-belt mind, I can make furniture jump around by the
power of thought" ,the implication being " so you better look up to me as
Master of the Universe, lest I perform a bit of black magic and turn you
into a crocodile".
This, to my understanding totally goes against the free and unobstructed
movement of the kundalini-shakti which really only wants to move the
consciousness into unity - and to achieve that, asks for relaxation,
surrender and stillness of thought.
Yeah, cultivating the feeling that the world is my Mother, that Nature is my
Mother that takes care of me always, without me needing to interfere or
dominate or be powerful, to me feels much more rewarding spiritually even if
it's not so easy to do.
It's probably still easier to handle though, than taking the male dominant
path, where one would say: Ok, I'm God, I'm going to show the world my
awesome powers and knowledge and all the neat things I can do.
I mean, you immediately aquire a reputation that needs living up to :)
And competition is stiff - Mirror, mirror on the wall, who's the
biggest/blackest sorcerer of them all?
And then, in the end, if and since everything is One, how can there be a
hierarchy or the division between those that "know" and "have the power" and
are at a high "level" and the poor losers that don't and aren't ? - In this
sense, levels of achievement don't really make any sense either except when
one tries to be "more" - while a large part of the spiritual quest seems to
involve becoming less and unlearning all so-called "knowledge"...
I guess Maya's really strong power of illusion is at work constantly !
Going off an a bit of a tangent here, but this ties into the larger question
of free will in general. By the end of the day I strongly suspect that there
is no such thing at all. If everything is God in action, created by the play
of divine juice, we can believe in our minds that we're individuals acting
deliberately, but in reality it's still just energy in our nervous systems,
creating thoughts and the illusion of "decision" and "free will" and an
"individual deciding person".
So, if somebody is attracted to developing the mind and begins occult
practices, it's the play of energy, operating unconsciously, that makes it
happen. When somebody doesn't like the occult manipulation of mind-stuff,
this is also a result of shakti-energy creating a specific response in that
particular body.
Equally, when somebody sits down at the computer and decides to inform the
world about his/her views on various subjects - yes, that's also just the
Divine Steam hissing through the old tubes..
BTW, this is just the way all this intuitively appears to be to me, but who
knows if I'm not prey to illusions here too ? What wouldn't I give for 101 %
certitude ?
Anyway, another interesting question that came up in this context, and I
think you, Mia, also adressed this some time ago, is whether there's actually
an individual soul incarnating and having individual karma from past lives.
It's really weird, since this is such a neat concept, totally coherent in
terms of spiritual logic.
If everything is One however, the inevitable non-dualistic conclusion can
only be that, in reality there is no individual at all and therefore never
has been an individual doing and experienceing and incarnating...Tricky
dialectics here !
What a riddle, eh ? If we get it, it's alright. If we don't get it, it's
still just as alright ! And in the end no-one gets it, because there never,
ever was anyone specific there in the first place :)) And that, of course is
very much alright as well...
Take care all
Michael
