Dear List,
In alchemy the term 'language of the birds' is often used to describe a kind
of communication, where a word or term is used to describe another. This is
often a technique, relying on phonetic similarity (ie..sounds like...) to
achieve results. The dove is clearly a symbol of descending cosmic energy,
an afflatus if you will, or in truth, the genuine meaning of the sanskrit
word "avatar" (to descend).
In dreams, we access several different worlds. If we pay attention, they
will almost always consist of the following: underground caverns or
experiences; sea shores; flying; and fire (or sometimes tooth loss). If we
look closely, we can see that our dreams have expressed the four Elements of
Earth, Water, Air, and Fire.
Additional details, such as the kind of dwellings, buildings, geography, etc.
can tell us what 'level' or vibration, these experiences are taking place on.
Or even from, if we correlate it to the chakras. For instance forts,
castles, armour would be Mars, or Geburah on the Tree of Life. Libraries,
laboratories, magical equipment would be Hod. Trees and lush vegetation,
Netzach, etc.
By combining the imagery, we can assess our level of intergration at that
particular level.
The days of the week are ruled by particular planetary influences (can even
read 'chakras' here, as they intemingle). The night of the week we experience
these things can also lead us to a clue based on classical western and
eastern astrology.
