here goes.
Hi,
I am new to this list. My experience is in western esotericism, mostly
qabala and practical alchemy. For those interested, my bio can be read
online at any one of the sites attached to the signature.
In response to the following:
<< The one that i need help with is this one. I was about 10 years old,
had a little dog. An old man, my companion, sent me to me room. He
told me to come get him if I was having problems with the snakes
again.
Well, my room was filled with serpents of all kinds of descriptions.
Where ever I looked or stepped they were coiled up or slithering
around. A few would bare these interesting ferocious looking fangs at
me.
I saw something really peculair though. That's the part I dont
understand.
<snip>
Well anyway, I saw one snake slide into the body of the crab and
transform it, becoming one with the crab. I also saw another serpent
do the same thing. Any ideas what that part might mean?

The symbolism of the old man and the little child with a dog are similar to
the symbolism of the Tarot Cards "The Hermit" and "The Fool". Age and
isolation (also Saturn - the planet that rules 'kundalini' or 'the Secret
Fire' ) are seen in the old man figure. Youth and 'foolishness' or innocence
actually, can be seen in the 'child'. The symbolism of the Crab can be seen
in two cards, one relating to Cancer (the Chariot) and the other where crab
symbolism is used to illustrate a point - the Moon. As one can see, the two
are related in that the Moon rules Cancer. Fangs or teeth are seen in the
Hebrew alphabet as relating to the letter Shin, which is a fire symbol, and
represents the three flames of the higher realms. This three tongued flame
is seen above the head, but also in the heart, and in some schools at the
base of the spine. I assume the symbolism here is obvious. The letter Shin
was later appended onto The Fool card during the French occult revival
(1850-1914) when the Hebrew alphabet as a whole was assigned a card by the
students of Eliphas Levi, and with it the modern tarot was born.
I would be willing to go into further detail about the symbols and how they
can be used in a practical manner if there is interest. Otherwise, please
see the site listed below - hermetic.com./stavish and look for the article
entitled, "The Secret Fire: Kundalini in Alchemical and Qabalistic Practices"
for more information on practical techniques.
