I live in downtown Denver which, fortunately, has an abundance of
beautiful parks. I live in the renovated basement of a victorian
home,
so it's kinda dark but hermit like and cool. The light that comes in
is very green cause it filters thru the grass growing around the
windows.
My backyard is growing crazy with greenness and a wild thriving
garden.
The entrance to my apt is becoming overgrown with ivy. I am beginning
to feel like I live in a hobbit hole. The squirrels come right up to
my door to investigate. (And the occassional baby bird bounces down
the steps). I have feral cats that patrol my home a couple of times a
day and herbs that I have planted by the door. I bought a water
fountain of an earthen clay goddess who sits upon her river rocks and
has moon stones in her lap that the water spills over. I keep her
inside with me.
I am going to buy some natural spectrum lighting and grow
strawberries
and other plants inside. Mmmmmmmmmm strawberries, my favorite. I have
a crystal, carved like an open oyster shell, that I hang in the
window
so during the day I have rainbows in my rooms.
I have incense of lilacs, roses, yling ylang that I light. Lots of
candles and an altar with special objects and pictures.
I am creating as much as I can a natural, relaxed sanctuary. I am
looking to purchase some cathederal amethyst geodes and I really want
some rose quartz that is as big as a basketball.
I just made my best purchase...$500 for a wonderful bed...my gift to
me. Makes my body do the happy dance.I had been sleeping on futons
for
a long time.
I have lived in downtown for almost 5 years and I have had many
ecstatic shakti charged experiences.
I find that i create my center of safety and stillness in the city,
it
begins to extend out beyond my walls. Sure, I live on a busy main
street...but it has mature old trees that spread everywhere. I am two
blocks from the coffee shop if i want to get hot chocolate. I am 6
blocks from a gorgeous, huge park and 6 blocks from the Botanic
Gardens.
The only downer is Denver's infamous brown cloud. I never had
allergies until I moved to Denver.
Since I don't have a car, I really miss not being able to go up in
the
mountains. But I have a magnificent view of the rockies from my
office
window (19 floors up). I can see from Pike's Peak, 60 miles to the
south up past Boulders' Flatirons into Wyoming, 100 miles to the
north.
It is a beautiful spring day today. I love my life and my life loves
me. Separation is all in the perception. :))))
Love,
Susan
