But you still have a perspective then, brought to you by your own awareness!

I agree that to surrender control, to relieve ourselves of burdens we bring
upon ourselves through limited thinking and beliefs, we have to consciously
choose to get out of the way.

Am I quibbling semantics? Are folks saying Ego and meaning Fear-based
behaviors?
