I know precisely what you are talking about. There
have been times when I have felt that my energy
follows my sight. It is said that energy follows
concentration. So whatever you are looking at could
potentially be acted upon by your energy if you really
are concentrating on the object and not just the
neural impulses in your head. I think the three forms
of yogic concentration as described by Patanjali are
meant to connect you with the object (aka cord?) to
gain insight into it. Egyptians believe that the eyes
are the seat of the soul. So you literally throwing
part of your soul (your energy) out of your eyes to
interact directly with the world. Scientists have
done experiments where they have determined that the
body unconsciously knows when someone is looking at
them. I bet in your case, some people consciously
know when you are looking at them.
Nice name.
