--How many of us have feared we were going mad. What symptoms caused this fear?

I worried in general about going mad (a Holy Fool) when I started on the
vowed religious path because it is at times a solitary and difficult one to
be in our secular society. Then a few years later my chakras opened when I
had an experience of totally and utter divine union with Christ during
prayer and have stayed that way ever since.

I went through a period of seriously questioning my mental health after
that & came to the conclusion that while on 'the walk' there is a period of
this exploration on the edges of society. *It was the incredible
oneness and energy with of the universe--but INSIDE me-- that caused the fear at
first. * I would wake up in the middle of the night and expect the kundalini to
be gone, but it wasn't going anywhere. My spiritual supervisor said
it awakens and never leaves.

I now wear a 'snake' symbol ring on my finger
to remind myself of the kundalini's transforming power in my life. (Not that
I could forget physically.) In Christian circles the snake gets a bad rap.Images
of Adam and Eve and garden of Eden. Folks forget about Moses and the
transforming power of the serpent --which is the snake story to relate to
mystically.

Awakening to the kundalini meant that my already mystical and inutitive
side was sharpened up. Could see colours better, think more clearly, pick
up on the thoughts of others and also could see illness (helpful for
healing others) and 'hummed inside' with wonderfully alive energy.

--How many of us have been diagnosed with some form of mental illness? What
form? I had some depression at times but it was always related to
life circumstances and not falsely generated.

--How many of us have been hospitalized for mental illness? For how long?
....never hospitalized
