Hi all...Namaste. First I want to apologize for the "spam" that I posted in error. My only excuse is that I was too tired to glean through my hundreds of addresses and sort out inappropriate addresses. But I will take the time to do so in the future. I want to jump in on the thread about mirroring. I hopefully come from the point of view of my own experience, as this is really the most legitimate place to come from that I have found. I spent a year at an ashram in N.Carolina as a novitiate monk. Every nite, from 50 to 120 of us would meet for about two hours, but sometimes up to four or five. The rest of the day was spent going inwards in ascenscion. I guess I spent over 3,000 hours with my eyes closed doing that. 10 to 16 hours a day. The whole experience of the ashram was designed for one to explore fully all facets of consciousness. From waking state to "Brahman" if one did indeed experience that. So that is my background with the topic of mirroring.
I love going to my trusty dictionary for definition. Mirror: "smooth surface".."reflecting image"..."what gives faithful reflection"..."and "reflection or copy in which left and right sides are reversed." (duality?)
It is really very simple isn't it? And the reversal aspect is intrigueing.
---One of the things I know about reflections/mirroring is that the ego does not like this in any way shape or form. It will balk and justify and complicate and dispute all in a mad attempt to not see itself reflected truly "out there"...."That isn't me...I would never do that..I'm not that ugly...that is not within me...etc".
---Another is that true mirroring is always about this Now-Moment. Otherwise it is not a mirror...do mirrors reflect anything from the past or future? No..they reflect what is right in front to them...only. "faithful reflection"....
---People will often mistake "projection" for "reflection"...in a group dynamic. But there is an easy way to discern the difference. Projection always comes from the ego, because the focus or driving emotions are from the past or the future and one gets very defensive when responding to a "mirror". The more defensive the more on target is the mirror. If there was not a button in you to be pushed...ie. did not exist within you..there would be no response. (Some of this is at a very deep and subtle level)..It just isn't there and hence it is a "projection" on the other persons part...unless your ego has padded your insight so much that you just don't react. That can also happen.
---True reflection will reflect whatever is going on in that moment whether of the ego or the heart or the spirit or whatever. All are gifts of the reflection to be looked at. To clear what the soul or shakti want you to clear up in the thought and emotional realm or acknowledge your perfection. Think of it in the same way that your consciousness creates your dream symbols. They always mean something. They are always your creation. They begin and end within your own consciousness. The waking state of consciousness is no different. Just a grosser manifestation of the workings of you that is an "outpicturing" of your Being.
---Engaging yourself in true mirroring on a consious level can be one of the most dynamic and rewarding ways to clear the illusions and lies of the ego. If you truly want to "go there" then the truth is that "everything" is a mirror of you. Pay attention and say "yes" to every reflection...Surrender is not easy....Your whole inner dynamic is reflected in your experience of life in the body/world, in the emotions, the mind and in the spirit in all levels of consciousness. This can be a delightful exploration of the metaphoric and symbolic reality that we create within our consciousness at every level. It can also sometimes seem painful. But so is birth.
---If you see "dark forces" they are an aspect of you. If you see "light beings and angels" that also is your creation. If you think these are not of you then you are buying into ego duality and not fully realized in consciousness. We are angels and assholes. Both are contained within each one of us. We become "aware" and "wake up" within the experience of that contrast and this is of perfect design. Expansion/contraction...light and dark...Shakti/ Shiva...God/Goddess.
---If you feel that you need protection from something "out there"...think again....Like attracts like...You are what you believe....I no longer see dark forces...they just don't exist for me. (in the past I "saw" my fair share) What you focus on grows....so...FILL yourself with light. Imagine that...feel that...picture that...BE that....You don't need a fence of duality to protect you. Circles of flame...incantations or whatever. A box is a box is a box. All separation and limitation. We are more powerful than a smoky smudgepot or a flaming circle. Your intent is enough.
Become a watcher in consciousness...drop all beliefs and you will instantly be enlightened....re-visit your innocence and clarity. "The light dispels the darkness" Go within to silence to Now here (nowhere).....and drop your need to figure it all out..That need to know...and just fully accept that you already do know. All else is the mind masterbating the ego.....Everything is contained within you...including the astral and your experience of Divinity...You are perfect. you've just forgotten...
So that was a bit long winded but I guess it just wanted to flow that way...( I sometimes get into "channel" mode) I welcome any thoughts from Y'all....:):) Blessings and love to all....Syena.
