You're right, they are wise folks. But they have no knowledge of the Self.
They think that's God's unknowable and that they have to perfect the outside
edge, like all the old religions teach. And unless they stumble on the Self
by accident like I did, or learn about it through something like yoga it's
not very likely they'll find out. And unless someone has experienced the
Self, you can't tell them about it. Well you can but it won't mean
anything. They have some very wonderful teachings, and they have developed
a vast array of psychic gifts including contact with quite highly evolved
beings in the astral. So they think- oh this is it, this is my religion.
To me it's like they've gone halfway down a path, stopped at the psychic
gifts, think they've reached the end of the journey, and there they'll stay.
And it's such a shame because they are probably more likely than most
people would be to to make it to the end because of their spiritual
curiosity.
The rest of your post I agree with.
