Has life been difficult? It may be a memory- Why did I come?!!
I remember my earliest memory as if it happened yesterday. I was a baby
lying in a cot. I don't know how old I was, but I couldn't see properly, I
was seeing things as if I was looking through white clouds. You know how
when you are flying and you're maybe going to land and it's a sunny day and
you go through fluffy white clouds and there are gaps in them that you can
see through? It was something like that. I saw this woman. She had blonde
hair tied back with a blue ribbon, and she was wearing a blue and white
gingham dress. I had no idea who she was but I remember feeling content and
thinking - If I want anything she'll get it for me.
She was my mother, but I was too young to know that, and too young to see
properly. Sort of nails the idea that babies come into the world as a blank
page doesn't it - I mean I was thinking in sentences!
Anyway my next memory, I was still a baby lying in a cot, and I remember
looking down my body and it had grown. I thought, Oh I've got longer.
And I felt sad! Why should a baby feel sad about that?
Precognition that growing up and being a grown-up would not be a bowl of
cherries?
I don't know if that's the reason you feel blue at 6 p.m., but it's a
possibility. What do you think?
