Sorry that last post shot off without the info.
In reading the Rites I came across some truth which I didn't know
before.

Introduction
3)" To fullfill the true meaning of the Sacrament,children must later be
formed in the faith in which they have been baptized. Christian
formation, which is their due, seeks to lead them gradually to learn
God's Plan in Christ, so that they may ultimately accept for themselves
the faith in which they have been baptized".

  "accept for themselves", implies freedom to me.

V . Adaptations By Conferences Of Bishops
23. In addition to the adaptations provided for (see Christain
Initiation, General Introduction, nos 30-33), the baptismal rite for
infants admits other variations, to be determined by the conference of
Bishops.
 2) The annointing with oil of catechumens may be omitted,(nos.50,87).
 4) If the number to be baptized is great, the annointing with chrism
may be omitted. (nos. 125).

  I found the exact wording of the ritual very enlightening.......

41. The celebrant continues:
"N.(name) or My dear children, the Christian community welcomes you with
great joy. In its name I claim you for Christ our Saviour by the sign of
the cross. I now trace the cross on your forheads and invite your
parents (and godparents) to do the same".

  A claim is made for the Christ,....... not a Church.
