That's a very useful feeling / attitude.
If you zoom in on this feeling of gratitude
and magnify it, it will multiply hundred fold.
If you try your best to make this be the
way you think about K, the path will be much
less problematic for you.
Bow deeply for Kundalini, as it is your
spiritual teacher, your guru.
If you want to know exactly how harsh a
teacher can be, I recommend reading
Paramahansa Yogananda's Autobiography of
a Yogi, if you haven't read it already, or
read some stories about the zen masters
and how they treated the egos and illusions
of their students.
Ideally, one should make prostrations to
Kundalini every day, but it is just as
effective to make prostrations in the mind
as with the body.
One last advice:
The only thing Kundalini is /really/ dangerous
for is a person's sense of humor.
It can actually kill of someone's
sense of humor. :O
If you can laugh at yourself and your situation
a little, or at least look at it with some
sense of humor, you will have a much easier
time than most ppl.

Raspberries ?
Nonsense sounds ?
I'm not quite sure what you mean there.
I don't know what replies you've got from
other ppl on the list, but my experience
(and this is just one person's mind you)
is that Kundalini can manifest as a presence
or a person inside dreams or in other of
the sleep states.
This, is I suspect, one reason why Indian
yogis have described Kundalini as a snake
woman.
In addition, there are many layers of the
state we call sleep.
Some ppl choose to believe there are individual
entities roaming free in these states.
It's up to each and every one what they will
believe.
I am not sure about this and I'm not sure
about what happened to you.
However, my experience is that
sensing the presence of someone else does
not automatically mean you are being attacked
and it also does not automatically mean the
presence you sense is a independently
moving individual.
I do have experienced a lot of such encounters
at night myself.
Surrounding oneself with white light
when feeling scared is the best way to deal
with such problems, however.
You can try a prayer to whatever deity you
want as well, Mystress adviced me to do this
and I found it works well. It takes the
thoughts off the cycle of fear and puts the
trust in something else outside of you.
I have experienced presences looking scary
and horrible, only to reveal what were wonder-
ful lights and movement when met with an open
eye and loving heart.
But for this to happen, fear must be
overcome.
One reason for such encounters may actually
be Kundalini trying to rid the mind body of
innate and deeply set fears, however odd
that might sound.
>I was sleeping and was suddenly aware of feeling like a net was over
>my body. I felt like I was being held down and tried to wake up my boyfriend.
>In my dream, my boyfriend woke up and looked at me. Right after that I woke
>up for real and saw my boyfriend still sleeping. what was weird was he was in
>the same position in my dream. Do these instances sound just like dreams
Hmmmm.... very difficult to say.
There are probably other members of the list
willing to share their views on what this was.
I am however reluctant to ascribe such events
to outside forces only.
For something to be attracted, there may very well be something similar present from
beforehand. Which is not to say that these
not so nice experiences is your fault.
They just happen.
You can however, make a little "program",
a plan, of what to do in case something
similar happens. If you can start up this
program, say of surrounding yourself
with white light the moment you feel
threatened, and remind yourself of doing
this before you go to sleep,
you will probably remember
to do so inside sleep as well and
execute the program when necessary.
I have had similar things happen many
times.
Last time I felt it was somewhat symbolic of
me feeling literally tied down by the other
person, which I could only sense and not see,
as I kept my eyes closed shut the time he
was holding me down. There was no room for
fear however, I was too angry at this
person's intrusive behavior.
Best regards,
Amanda.
