There might be something in your theory of
reconnecting the energy of the senses with
themselves.

Since a child, I was always heavy on visuals,
and the 3rd eye was quite active.
Near photographic memory (which unfortunately
disappeared at 15) was coupled to the heavy
visual orientation.

When K started gearing up, I had a lot of
visions and light, ranging from the abstract
and geometrical to the figurative
(could K be an art history teacher too ? ;) )
and a lot of what seemed like garbage images,
just old impressions that needed to be gotten
rid of.

At one point, I could not watch tv as that was
too confusing for the mind which would start up
visions on its own.

But when the throat chakra opened up, I suddenly
became aware of sound and sound vibrations,
literally god in sound and vibration, like a
new pair of ears.

Music has a good effect, it sounds very
special and filled with energy.
Right now it is the best description of
shakti, energy moving at different speeds
and frequencies, being alive and turning,
moving, dipping, glowing, expanding and
contracting like a live animal. :)
I do associate it with life energy.

Despite the former orientation towards
visuals,
hearing became someting else and I would hear
lots of things in sleep, questions, advice,
guidance.

Just the other day I got the funny little koan,
there was no image, just a voice asking:

"When two men break into a house, what is then
stolen ?" :)

High pitched noises are very uncomfortable as my
ears seems to be able to pick up higher
frequencies.

Then there are sounds from the astral,
as voices, creaks, rumbles etc.
and sometimes everything goes dead silent.
All very strange.

But yes, I feel the overweight in visual
orientation had to be balanced with an equal
awareness of sound and vibration.
