I think that the current human brain carries within it the faculties of
both male and female... and it's the hormonal "specialization" that
determines which will dominate and, usually, supress the faculties of the
other gender. This supression is more complete with some people, but it
doesn't seem to be irreversible... sometimes under the influence of
mind-bending chemicals people experience the presence of the supressed
gender.
