Yes, Wim, the "reality" of the soul can be questioned.

My personal dogma encompasses the physical body and mental continuum.
Most simply put: the mental continuum, e.g.: mindstream, contains all
nonphysical experience.

I find most attempts to classify the concept "soul" highly egocentric. Most
often they seem attempts by the mindstream's current ego construct to project
itself upon future incarnations of the mindstream.

Perhaps this is simply a semantic distinction. Perhaps what you call "soul"
I call "mindstream." But, in my experience, references to the "soul" are
usually made self-referentialy by the ego construct.

Personally, I prefer "sole." This is the sole time this mindstream
incarnates in this physical body. While I may have incarnated before, the
"I" that now views those lives past is not the "I" that lived them.
