A few more observations concerning some of the responses to this story:
Angelique, l hope that Tony's response puts to rest the notion that these
stories about SB are mere rumors. Stories have been piling up for years from
credible,high level defectors. This crossed over the line years ago from
being rumor into the realm of well documented and substantial evidence. As
far as your own sexual practices are concerned, l'm sure you are aware of the
difference between yourself and SB. People come to you asking for and knowing
what they're getting, ie consensual behavior, unlike with SB. That's why in
my second post l clarified that it was the overall context of his sexual
acts, not the acts themselves, that made his conduct heinous.
William, altho we often disagree, l do admire
your honesty and open-hearted compassion, which is why altho you may have had
your own temptations in the past, you could never have been a Sai Baba. l
suspect you're a very decent man, which he clearly isn't. We cannot say that
because one puts on a saffron robe he is permitted to sexually molest,
exploit, deceive, defraud and harm with impunity, especially on such a grand
scale. Anyone can talk the talk; the guru is one who walks the walk. lf
not, then nearly anyone can be a guru and the title becomes meaningless. And,
as one who's spent alot of time in lndia, l can say that this sort of
behavior is not condoned there either. lt may be a little easier to get away
with it, but that's not because it's accepted.

what he has done, Sai Baba is a far worse hippocrate than Jimmy Swaggart and
all of his crew combined. l don't know any of the Christian fundamentalists
who have proclaimed themselves to be Christ, yet SB has proclaimed himself to
be Krishna, the avatar of the ages, with all of the powers appropriate to
same. This is why his phony materializations are critical here, because
they've always been his main calling card - his proof of avatarhood. As one
who once was with a guru, l can say that l've never been in favor of denying
gurus their right to be human, so to speak. Obviously, that's not what this
is about.
Of course, each devotee has a different perspective -- a
different lesson to learn from his/her experience. And l wouldn't presume to
speak for any such person. Good things have been known to result from the
actions of bad people. But to credit Sai Baba for a teaching is like praising
a robber who helped you be rid of the old watch you were tired of. His
intention wasn't to teach -- and l defy anyone to show me where in the
tantras is included the art of raising a man's k by sucking his penis or by
jacking him off.
