The emotion you felt is perhaps a key to understanding this dream: have
you been feeling enraged/terrified in some small way by something going
on in your life?
King/nobleman: an inner teacher of some sort, but perhaps not yet
integrated in your psyche, so perceived as hostile or dangerous? Many
women (much more so than men - and I am assuming you are female in this
interpretation; this paragraph would be different for a male) dream
bloodthirsty dreams, which often happen when they are being harsh with
themselves in some way, or when they are limiting their own creativity
or ambition by saying things like, "Oh silly me, I could never do that!"
The male protagonist, your so-called 'inner male' objects to this self-
deprecating behaviour violently, and rightly so, usually. It is a
conflict between your true Self, and your social conditioning as a 'good
girl.' The character seems to be rather meticulous or obsessional, given
his requirement that all the humans be equally filled. Could this be a
reflection of such behaviour on your part? A neurotic side that perhaps
would benefit from relaxing a bit so your true Self could express itself
more?
For a male, the character would probably be a shadow figure - the
unacceptable face of the self, the disliked side of you, seen in the
world with rage and fear but not seen where it originates - within.
Another side of vampires is that they are in need of nourishment - the
blood of life, love. Are you loving your weaknesses, or
angrily/terrifiedly rejecting them? Acceptance of who you are may help
here.
Spikes plus blood are also very Freudian, so maybe there is a
sexuality/adulthood issue here too.
