True, but nonsense also: there is plenty of food for everybody; the
distribution of it is the problem. Countries run by corrupt dictators
who filter much of their country's funds into Swiss bank accounts
instead of helping their people to live are much more of a problem since
there is no overall shortage of food. The shortage is of political will
in the countries concerned.
In terms of finance alone, if the political will was there, it would be
financially possible to ensure that everyone in the world was fed for
more than a year, using, for example, the US defence budget for three
days.
