This debate reminds me of a joke i heard not so long ago by a stand up
comedian. Here it goes:
Last night I went down the street to eat a this little steak house. I had a
nice juicy steak and the lady next to me was eatting a bowl of weeds and
sprouts and roots and stuff. Shelooked at me and said "hey you know a cow
died so you can eat that steak." I said "you know how she died lady? Cuz
you ate all his freakin food."
I just thought I'd share that lil piece of info. It kinda adds a twist to
the whole "to eat or not to eat meat" debate. I persoanlly do not eat red
meat, ever since was a child the taste has made me physically sick. That
does not mean that I find carnivores to be the skum of the earth. As long as
the organism is respected and all parts are put to good use and not wasted i
do not see the harm. If i chop off the wings of a sting ray and leave the
rest of the body to rot, that is disrespectful to the ray and wrong. There
is a differnce between that and using all parts of the cow for nurishment and
warmth as the indians did.
