Subject: [K-list] Negative Emotions are opportunities
From: Magne Aga
On 1999/11/27 20:47, Magne Aga posted thus to the K-list:
When writing my following post about Anger, I didn't recite Gautama Buddhas words correct - from my memory. The famous words in "Visuddhimagga" is:
"Only the suffering exists - but no one suffers.
Only the deeds exists there - but no doer.
Nirvana exists - but cannot be searched by anyone.
The Way is - but no one walks on it"
A deep apologize to possible Buddhists on these list! (Perhaps it's better making mistakes than no answer?)
However, I read the postings of "Revo" and Amanda on November the 27th. And it seems we all are touching an important subject, since emotions constitute a much deeper influencing factor in our lifes than we are consciously aware of.
However, contemplate on the following table:
NEGATIVE EMOTIONS
Anger Hate, Worries, Sadness, Fear,
Impatience Anxiety Depression Stress
POSITIVE EMOTIONS
Kindness Love, Joy Fairness, Righteousness, Gentleness
Openminded Courage
YIN
Liver Hearth Spleen Lungs Kidneys
YANG
Gall Small Stomach, Large Bladder
bladder Intestine Pancreas intestines

The negative emotions are NOT in themselves bad. They are OPPORTUNITIES and can be transformed into positive emotions and energies. But due to cultural, moral, conventional and relative measures (maya), we are teached that the dark emotions are *bad*, and therefore must be *suppressed* instead of beeing transformed into positive opportunities. And even worse: Suppressed emotions causes the physical organs to aggregate chemicals which are not good for our health.
As an answer to "Revo", here are more details about the Chinese meditation I touched in my previous posting:
1) Focus your attention on the Kidneys. View them - if you can, from the 3rd eye, the "Ajna Chakra", literarilly meaning the "CONTROL CENTER" since we can control the energy flow in the body from there.
Visualize energy moving downwards/forwards from the kidneys to the front side of your body, carrying with it released fear and stress. (Once, the release of emotions during these process became so intensive that I almost ran out the door in hysterical fear. But I realized that I couldn't run from myself! And my feets, up to the hips, became filled with *electricity*, just like standing in a power sphere with 200 Volts - a symptom of light body anchoring. It can be of great help having people around understanding the process of releasing suppressed emotions. It's not patalogichal - just away-passing symptoms during the release.)
Beneath the navel, the Chakra of Swadhistana, the "6-bladed lotus" exists in our auric envelope. Swadhisthana means "Your own place". It's the resting point of the body - your personal resting point - your own safe place of rest.
Visualize the emotional energy beeing transformed into Gentleness, in these soft place of rest.
2) Become aware of the physical hearth. Visualize energy going downwards a little bit to the right until it reaches Anahata Chakra, "the home of the Sound".
Feel how hate and impatience becomes transformed into Love and Joy when entering these center.
And - these is important. The hearth and the sacral center are two poles (Yin and Yang), which establishes a balance. Slowly move both energies towards each others, and see them blend and unite in solar plexus.
3) Then become aware of the liver. Move the energy from the liver to a point on the right side of solar plexus, and FEEL how anger, hate *loosen it's grip* on the liver, moving downwards to these point - while beeing transformed into kindness.
4) Then become aware of your lungs. Visualize energy from both lungs move downwards to a point in the left side of solar plexus. FEEL how sadness and depression are beeing released from these organs, ending up in these center, becoming transformed into righteousness and courage.
Again - the right and the left point are two poles in balance. Visualizing them meet, blend and unite in solar plexus.
5) At last, release worries and anxiety from your spleen. Move the emotions downwards straight into solar plexus, beeing transformed into fairness and open-mindness.
And within solar plexus, the energy begin to rotate. A large energy form, similar to our galaxy, our milky way, rotates with its *arms* as large as the whole body. When the rotation reaches a certain velocity of speed, see mentally the pearl in the midst, the star, the central sun - a crystallized energy ball, which presents the essence of your very beeing and light body.
These pearl, these crystallized energy ball, is your spiritual uniqueness. You are unique. No one in the whole Universe can replace you. Respect yourself! That's the lesson which the 10 energies in solar plexus try to teach You, again and again. Your spiritual inner beeing is divine, God-like - despite all outer appearances.
So, dear "Revo". Maybe the ridicule, the criticism you have experienced, is the classical symptoms of the Second Initiation, the initiation of Baptism?
* * *
"Baptism takes place within every individual, when the fire of Spirit descends upon the consciousness, and all that you are and all that you wish to become is bathing your entire auric field, and you become immersed in this energy and these fire. Fire and water together are a symbol here, used as counterbalances so you will understand that the fire of Spirit cannot be put out by the waters of your own immersing or bathing or cleansing.
There's a dual aspect in this baptism. For you feel the energy of fire coursing through your entire body and mind and you feel aflame with all the power God has given each of His individual creations, His own sons, which you are. Then You feel the desire to bathe yourself for cleanliness. You feel the desire to disperse any of the errors of your ways and all the evil that may have been done in your life."
* * *
"The third spiritual temptation is one of beeing unkind when unkindness is shown to you. It is easy to love when you are loved, but difficult to love when you are hated or misused and ignored. This temptation is the easiest one to which to submit. Those who appear to You in unkindness, inconsideration, boorishness, lack of understanding, are your tempters. If you can accept them as God's children and love them in return for their ill will and their hatred, then you can face the world as one of enlightenment. Every step of the disciple's path is fraught with this particular temptation, for you are never universally loved, understood and accepted."
* * *
"Your problems have to do with sharing. Do not separate yourself even from those who try to destroy you. That is a purely mortal reaction and perversion. You must relinquish all mortal consciousness in order to attain immortality.......The crown of thorns is placed now on your head... The opening of your crown chakra has caused your headaches recently. The thorns are the criticism, the ridicule, the misjudgements you face from all the world, particularily those closest and most precious to you"
(Sananda)
Whenever we experience adverse reactions from others, trying to belittle You, ask Yourself: Where is the Pearl? What is the solar plexus energies trying to tell me, to teach me?
The pearl is your own unique crystall ball of energy. If you throw it away, it will allways return. But in the meantime, the pearl must have a place to stay. It lives maybe inside a snowball. And when returning, we experience a snow ball right in our face! We probably react by throwing it away anew. The pearl goes out in the world, and next time it attracts you, it's probably inside a large rock, almost killing you.
These analogy is usefull, since we repeat the same negative patterns of karma over and over again until we have digested the experiences spiritually -and FOUND THE PEARL! Remember, when you have found the pearl inside the situation, and have DIGESTED the experiences (separated nurturing experiences from those you do not need - namly karmic reactions), you will never more experience these bad things anywhere, anytime, in all eternity.
So, again - when experiencing something bad, ask yourself: Where is the pearl in these situation? Solar plexus is connected physically to digestion, and spiritually to the ability to digest (separating the nurturing from the useless) experiences.
These Pearl is the same as the *philosophers stone*, the *stone of the wise*, which, in the allegories of alchemy, tranformes gross metals into gold. Many statues of Buddha is made of gold. Why? Obviously because the light body, the eternal body, the ressurrected body has a golden colour!
I understand, Richard, that you do have emotional problems. But negative emotions is not necessarily *bad* or *evil*. When someone makes you angry, say to yourself: "Thank's for making me pissed! Because - without these negative emotions, I wouldn't have energy to TRANSFORM !"
And YES, Amanda - it is True that *ego conflicts are unsolvable*. There exists problems which cannot be *solved* at all!. They must be lived!
Peace be with You, Richard, Salter all the others in these traumatic times of a changeover into a New Age. I hope you find Peace in meditation or Nature -*the warriors greatest love* - since Peace and Silence is the perfect healer.
Deap beneath our rational, logical *ego*, there exists an infinite Ocean of the unspoken. A mysterious stream which precedes the language, and which is older than the language. Although we live far away from nature's silence, in our present, stressing culture - we are never completly separated from the Silence within ourselves.
* * *
Silence, a peculiar mood!
So many thoughts and feelings can be revivaled!
Silence is so much:
The Silence resting over the waters at night.
The crystal clear autumn morning with frost in the grass.
The calmness in a loving look.
The unmoveable center of the storm,
or the Silence which rests in an old church.
In Silence, we can regain something which is not supressed by the everydays noise.
It can give Peace, calmness and clarity.
But it can also scare, put us face to face with what we really are.
Our soul can whisper to us about something unfinished
- unlived.
