While some may attribute that to the 'judgement' of God or something,
'punishment' for trying to capitaize or something, my own learning
experiences with various 'power gifts' indicate something else at work
in this, something that actually involves the process, the way these
things work. It usually involves 'intent', on either or both parts of
the gifted person, and those that might be invloved in their effort to
work with power around/with them.
A simple example is that I've learned the intent on both parts must be
for the supposed intended effect, and NOT some other intent, such as to
prove or disprove the power itself on either part. If I am doing healing
work, the intent that must be in both mine and the healee's mind is the
intent, desire, for healing. A person that has submitted to my effort to
do healing work on them that is really of intent to just 'see' if I can
really 'do' something, or if my own is to try to prove it to them, the
energies simply will NOT flow.
In my mental telepathy, it works when there is sincere intent, backed by
strong desire, to 'cummunicate' a thought or idea, but not at all if I
try t do it where I or the other have as part of it a conscious
awareness we are attempting it, for sake of 'prooving', or 'testing' it.
Both my own mind, and theirs, mus be at the right 'frequency' for the
telepathy to happen, and any of those mental conditions coming from some
other intent, to evaluate, test, prove or disprove, bump us off that
right frequency.
When one begins attempting to publically display gifts, both their own,
and others', intents and desires can quite effectively block them. I
realte this to what happened to Jesus, in his home town, where others
knew him as the ordinary man, a simple carpenters son, and were
determined to not beleive him as anything more. I find that my gifts
work least or even not at all when people close to me, family, etc, are
involved. They have their 'other' image of me, who/what I am, and this
just doesn't fit into that.
