Wahey - another Hillary(tm) Poll! Thank you, dear.
As for me, I was brought up eating meat, was a vegan for a few years, went
back to omnivorousness during a period of homelessness when I could not
afford to be too picky.
A yogic purity-boy boyfriend instructed me to become a vegetarian again as
he found the idea of intimacy with one of The Polluted 'revolting'. Hmmm.
Not one of my best decisions.
Split up with him and went right out and bought the largest, rarest,
bloodiest steak I could find as my personal manifesto of independence.
Yummm. Tasted soo good.
These days I don't eat meat much though, although I love it. Not because I
have a problem with causing death - how can you worship the earth and have a
problem with death?
But purely because most of the animals we eat in this country anyway don't
even get to /have/ a life before we kill them, and I do have a problem with
that. So I'm trying to withold my money and support from the factory-farming
industry that exploits and abuses nature and other living beings on this
earth so bad that I'm pretty sure the Goddess is going to geit sick of us
sometime soon and serve us eviction orders.. and I'm keen to stay, the
unbearable joy of living in techno-pods on other planets nothwithstanding
(hyuk hyuk, sorry Martin, don't fancy it much)
