In some ways I agree with you that information about spiritual teachers who
are misleading and harming people should be made available, but on the other
hand I wonder how we can be sure who is a fraud and who isn't, except maybe
for finding out for ourselves. Like you did, when you went to the ashram of
SB.
Some of my aquaintances and friends when I was still living in Switzerland
were following gurus which I considered to be frauds and who's practices
seemed questionable to me. One of my impulses was to point out to them that
they were following the wrong person. But then I thought better of it
because I felt that I would not be able to dissuade them from following this
particular guru because they were convinced that they had found the right
teacher. How could I have argued with them? I don't think that any
information concerning their teacher would have convinced them otherwise. So
I realized that I can't make any decisions for them and that they are
responsible for their own actions. I don't know if this sounds cruel and I
should have told them but I found that whenever I tried to argue with
someone about their believes in the past that I was hitting a stone wall.
