You are correct: genocide refers to racial, national, religious or
similar destruction. I suppose I was thinking of species-cide (whatever
the word for that may be!). Species-cide is OK then?

I agree. But why is it OK for nature to control our population? Are you
against medical science? (No offence intended - just arguing!)
