Yes, I agree completely, that particular type of alienation is excessively
ugly and difficult to deal with - no sense of connection or help anywhere on
the outside...
And finding it within isn't always so easy either.

I've heard that official psychiatry finally is beginning to accept "spiritual
crisis" as a valid phenomenon, distinct from "usual" psychopathology. I
think it's also being included in the DSM-catalogue of different syndromes
affecting the mind. As far as I know, it doesn't specifically adress the
kundalini-situation however, so that people with a freshly awakened shakti
are still completely left out in the cold.

Any person with a medical degree, preferably with a license in psychiatry or
neurology, willing to stick his/her neck out is sure to earn truckloads of
acclaim and gratitude from kundalini-sufferers if he/she would do some
lobbying within the medical and scientific establishment - and maybe we'd
eventually find out that there are droves of closet-kundalites within the
scienctific community just waiting to come out in the open...
