Actually, the EightFold Path was part of what the
Buddha devised. It's part of the religion itself.

The idea (briefly) is that we cause most of our
own problems and the way to get out of this suffereing
is to live an ethical life. Hence the Eightfold Path.
Much like the 10 Commandments, but from the Buddhist
Perspective.

It's deeper than that, of course, but I wanted you
to know the Eight Fold Path isn't just another List,
like the chakra one you mentioned.
