I'm sometimes ridiculed for using Indian terminology and accused of trying
to be deliberately exotic. The thing is, I've personally always been drawn
to all matters Indian - music, food, yoga, Indian faces... when I talk about
this, people usually roll up their eyes and say something like: "Now he's
going to start harping on about past lives in India" or something to that
matter.

Well, for the past lives I don't know although I wouldn't be surprised if it
were so. As for India as such, whoever has been there knows about the
enormous contrasts bombarding you as soon as you step of the plane. Beauty &
ugliness, riches and desperate misery going hand in hand and all sorts of
miscellaneous weirdness going on - it's also a pretty screwed up place in
many respects.

What I'm meaning to say is that I'm not at all into idealising a specific
country or culture or tradition. When dealing with spirituality and kundalini
however, the Indian yogic tradition to me seems to offer a good and
systematic foundation when trying to build a philosphically valid and
workable framework in order to initially make some sense of the whole
kundalini-circus. Later on I found that many ideas and experiences from the
yogic traditions were validated by my own experience . I realise that this
doesn't mean anything at all to the critically inclined, but to me it just
smells of truth ( it's pretty fragrant as it is...)

Ultimately of course we're concerned with the innermost workings of reality
and the truth and essence of ourselves and our relationship to the universe -
and this is totally free from being linked to any specific path or
tradition...It's just the way Life REALLY is and not the way we usually see it
through the distortions of the mind.

Crossculturally
