Simple - you need a sound card with an audio in (microphone plug) and a
microphone. Plug the microphone into the right hole in your soundcard.
Start up the computer's audio recording program (if you have a soundcard,
one probably came with it. if not, look under Start, Accessories for
one.) and you record your piece. Save it in WAV format. Go to
http://mp3software.simplenet.com/encoders.html and pick the cutest
encoder and download it. Unzip it/execute it (if you don't have an
unzipping utility, goto http://www.winzip.com/ddchome.htm and download the
evaluation copy of winzip - note this is for files that end in .zip - if
it ends in .exe, just run it.)

Then read the instructions for the encoder and convert the .wav to a .mp3.
Copy the .mp3 to your web page location and add a link to it. Good luck.

Oh, and if you want realaudio format instead of mp3 format, you'll be able
to find an encoder at
http://www7.realaudio.com/help/encoder/win3.0/index.html
I think it's a little more complicated to use than mp3 encoder, but it
does allow internet streaming realtime if you want that.
