Hi Sherry,
As a K active child, I can only tell you what I
would like to have happened when I was younger
to make any transitions smoother,
which is kind of useless anyway, since it's all
in the past, :) but here goes:
(this is kind of my wish list
and I think it might be useful for anyone
not K active but interested in giving children
a more spiritual upbringing too)
-Listen to the child, if it says something odd,
don't argue and don't say "well, that's not possible".
Ask about the strange experiences / fantasies
and don't be afraid to discuss them.
(I also think all kids like to be taken seriously
and talked with, not just talked to)
-Present more than one religion or belief system to
the child, in neutral terms,
and let her/him choose on own accord whenever
that happens.
-Let the child get acquainted with the concept of
chakras and meditation when and if interested.
Maturity to develop into these things will come
naturally.
-Keep an open mind and don't clamp down on fantasies,
but restrict behavior that might be harmful for the
child or others.
One more thing,
let the child have lots of
peace and quiet if it looks to be
so inclined to develop on its own.
What more can a say ? :)
A loving, stable and nurturing family life will
probably be the best foundation for
spritual practice and non spiritual life
anyway. :)
Doesn't have to be more comlicated than that. :)
I think the best foundation for a "good"
K awakening is a happy childhood !
As is so much else in this world !
But how hard to attain. :)
