Maybe you've jumped into a parallel Universe. In one of my earlier
Universes, Abba won the Eurovision Song Contest with Waterloo (I know
because I fancied the blonde one and was pleased to get a second chance
to ogle her as they sang their winning song at the end of the show)- yet
some time ago I saw them grumbling on TV about how they didn't win, yet
have been so successful since.
