Hi, Thomas,

I honestly don't think I know more about Taoism energy practice then you do.
I had training in so called "Neo-Taoism" training, and got K energy going,
turned to Taoist Water Method and got relief from it. I am still a
beginning student in the Water Method. But I will try my best to answer
your question.

> Where did the Franzis quote about being "a player of the game" come from?

I read it from his book "Relaxing into Your Being", source
www.energyarts.com, you cannot buy this book thru regular book stores or
websites. It's about $25.00. It's a very informative book on the
difference between fire and water method. I would recommend anyone serious
in energy work to read it. There is just a lot of great info. I cannot
find the exact quote of the above right now. But P.71 has discussion on
energy junkes and cult leaders.

> Are you aware of the works of Mantak Chia? What do you think of them?

Yes, I am aware of his works and he is IMO considered a Fire-Method Taosit,
which practice Microcosmic and Macrocosmic circulation of energy. I have
not really studied his books but just glancing it, but my husband has and we
did have discussion on his works. His books are very detailed in methods,
but I personally feel that without a teacher to supervise the fire-method
practice, such as circulating chi in the brain, is dangerous for those who
are very sensitive to energy or who experience strong "current" of energy.
The problems always arise when the individuals tough it out and do more than
they should (which is 70% of your capacity and be relaxed). Otherwise, he
is a good fire-mtthod teacher, for people who are not "very" sensitive to
energy and are natually calm-minded.

No, would you like to talk about it? I have just been able to calm my K
down for less than a year by doing the beginning works Outer Dissolving
Process, so I am not ready for mediation yet (intermediate level of energy
work).

That probably falls into the catagory of Neo-Taoist, which is a blend of
Taoism and Buddhism (Frantzis again). They seek to do all sorts of
paranormal things, reaching the Casual Body, IMO, and probably stay there.
My first qigong teacher was like that, very magical to watch, but he also
thought that he was a Taosit God reincarnated. There are a lot of ways to
present the energy, some people in the list have experienced
electric-magnetic energy and they short circuited the electric appliances.
Moving objects or ESP or making deep-fried seeds sprout again are just a
couple of them. There is no magic, just IMP the ability to change the
moleculars of the object or sensing the particles of a person (I am sure
there is a more scientific/rational way to say it, but just don't have the
words or research yet...)

I don't quite understand the question, but there is finding the Mindstream
or the origin of thoughts. Is this what you are asking about?

Falun gong is definately a hybrid of Buddhist and Taoist energy works. I
uses the Buddist terminology "Wheels of the Law" as its name. It is also a
CULT. In the website they talked about planting a Falun into your body by
the Master. (Talking about mind-control and causing the dependency of the
followers) The exact techniques I would not comment because I don't
practice it. But again the energy practice is probably a hybrid and a
definate fire-method, IMO. The Master of Falun Gong has no previous master,
no lineage to follow, according to the Public radio show I heard. I hope I
answered your questions.

If you don't mind, could you tell me your training background? I also took
Sun Style Taichi, a small-frame energy work. I also have one question for
you, what's your observation on different kinds of energy practices? From
my limited observation, there is downward (Cosmic), upward (Kundalini) and
circulatory (Taichi and Microcosmic).

I look forward to hearing from you also.

Respectfully,
Jay
