Hi,

It seems to me that before we decide what to 'do about' the ego, if
anything, we should define just what it is.

To me, the ego is that part of me which focuses in physical reality. It
does this by narrowing my perception to consensus reality, by telling me
that I am a unique individual and 'separate' from others. It also protects
me from those things that might harm my body and/or kill me.

In my opinion, K does not weaken or kill the ego, but rather broadens its
outlook. I think as long as we are alive in physical reality, that we will
have our egos lock-stepping along with us. Without them, our focus would
simply be to diffuse to keep on living.
