Hi shirl,
 What a beautiful post about your introduction to
Kundalini!
 I had a similar 'zap' experience, but in another
form: Tibetan Buddhism. It's been long known that
many times a Tibetan teacher can merely look into the
eyes of the student and can transmit (Download!) all
of his/her knowledge.
 I never believed it.
 that is until a few years ago. I was leaving
the building in West Philadelphia with my teacher and
it was nighttime. We were going to the parking lot.
Some people were with us, talking about fun, silly things
and suddenly we found ourselves waiting for a car to
pass, when he looked at me....but in a deep, penetrating
way. I can't explain it except all time stopped. I could
'feel' a change happening in my brain/mind. It was
absolutely
amazing. Afterward as we started walking again, I knew
I had changed in a very profound way.
  I felt I had made a complete 180 degree turn inside.
I have never experienced any doubt (about Tibetan Buddhism)
since
and know I have a 'mission' although I can't always put it
into
words.
  
Here, I'm handing you an emerald green tablet.....! The
Philosopher's Stone...
