Woops, I've just carried "snipping" to the limit: I snipped the whole
digest. :)
But I did have some comments. My experiences seems to be different from
some here who believe you have to use drugs to experience the Divine. I
imagine that is one path, but in my own life, I used drugs for several
years in SEARCH of what I experienced during and after shaktipat. It was,
in fact, at that point that I completely lost interest in LSD (and mind
you, in those days we used to get the very pure stuff in San Francisco). I
reasoned, nothing can top THIS, because certainly nothing up to that time
had topped it. And I did have some very beautiful acid experiences up
until that time, but none were...fishing for words here to express the
unexpressable--authentic, all encompassing, oh shoot, it's just too hard to
explain. Words just won't cut it. Remember what acid-freaks used to say
when someone asked what it was like? "You just have to try it, you won't
know until you do" was the usual reply--well, I have to say the same about
shaktipat.
Weather: El, loved your weather stories. Here's another. For those of you
who have Reiki, draw the Reiki power symbol, and "place" it over your
house, or the house of another, or a whole area if you want before a severe
storm. Maybe it's just a very long string of coincidences, but during the
past several years of doing this, the houses or areas in question have all,
every last one of them, been spared the storm damage. Even the May
tornados in mid-Oklahoma this spring--we have relatives that were in the
path, yet the storms somehow skipped their houses. Likewise with Floyd: I
sent a symbol to Charleston. I do NOT try to send the storm elsewhere--the
Divine alone has the wisdom for where it should go--but I do send that
healing to some places when moved to do so. Especially in the case of
hurricanes, we must remember that they perform a vital function in Earth's
overall ecology. It wouldn't be wise to eliminate them, nor to prevent
their helpful qualities from manifesting. So I don't try to push them out
to sea or anything like that.
Back to the drug conversation--when I was using them, dire warnings never
did much for me, so I don't give them out either. When it comes to drugs,
people will do what they will do until their inner wisdom tells them to do
otherwise. Sure, it's hard for the Inner Voice to be heard at times, but I
just trust that if it's needed, it will be heard. And anyway, who am I to
say one way or the other? Maybe, for some, drugs is the vestibule for
Reality; perhaps its only through here that they may enter. I just don't
know. I only know that for me, specifically, the drugs were like looking
at something in 2-D, and the shaktipat suddenly threw me into something
more like 6-D. Or 10-D.
