This is a beatiful poem. Thanks so much for posting it.
You mentioned Chopin in the beginning of the poem. I
wonder how much of his own 'altered state' was produced
by his illness (TB). Many creative people who have been
ill, say their illness help create their work. Virginia
Woolfe was one (she was a victim of migraines, which
produces auras----my own 10 year bout with migraines gave
me unbelieable auras right before an attack;
reality (matter) around me became kalidoscopic...and
I knew the pain would come shortly thereafter. A mixed
blessing).
Anyone have thoughts on illness and altered states? Of
course this might also be Kundalini, rising, although
in my case the migraines were hereditary; my grandmother
had them for the 10 year period I did (from age 40 to age
50) and therefore it was an obvious hormonal change problem
that produced them. I couldn't take any medication for
them...because at the time there wasn't any, excpt cafergot
and I couldn't tolerate any dose of it, physically.
