But can't the permanent psychosis be attributed more to the individual's
inability to "handle" what is perceived in the psychedelic experience than
the actual drug? I once knew a person (no the person is NOT myself here
people) that while on a recreational LSD trip believed that the Mario
Brothers were chasing after him. Obviously this is a hallucination brought
on by the drug....but the mind has to be prepared to deal with such
situations as manifested from our imaginations. If a person is ill-prepared
to deal with this situation a pychoses may result which centers itself on
being followed or chased. If the person can handle the fact that this is a
figment of his imagination and can handle the situation as such then no
problem should follow. It's FAKE..the drug made them come...use the drug to
make them LEAVE! If a person has a strong mind then nothing should sway them
otherwise? An already fragile state of minds is not going to strengthen by
altering states...its like adding fuel to a fire and givig it reason to break
completely...at least IMO.
