Once upon a time, I met someone who was regularly able to
acquire that splendid form of life known on planet Earth as
Psilocybe Cubensis, or more popularly called Magic Mushrooms.
Having heard many good things about this interesting fungal
form of life, I decided to acquire four grams of the dried mushroom,
and injest it.
The person who sold them to me, told me to make sure that
I kept my eyes closed throughout the trip, which I did. He said
that, that was the best way to travel, otherwise, if you leave
your eyes open, the trip blends into the surrounding environment,
and then it doesn't end up as wondrous as it could have been,
had the eyes been kept closed. So I kept my eyes closed all the
way through.
It was about 9:00 pm in the evening, and I was lying down
in bed. I made sure that the room was dark, with no outside
lighting shining in through the window. About one hour after
ingestion of the fungi, I began to feel it coming on.
I closed my eyes and kept them closed for the next couple of
hours. A progression of geometric patterns began to whirl
through my mind, beautiful kaleidoscopic colors that seemed
to be shooting through me. In a few minutes, this wondrous
display of jeweled art faded away, and I found myself in
what appeared to be a temple, or a holy shrine of some sort.
There were people inside, and they were moving around a
table that was placed in the middle of the room. I could
make out some objects on the table, but I could not see them
clearly enough to make out what they were.
There was a skylight up on the ceiling, and a wondrous bright
light shone through it, spilling into the temple. This was
no ordinary light though, because as I looked at it, I could
sense life emanating from the light, as if it were alive.
There were about six or seven people in the temple, and they
moved around the table in the middle of the room. The eerie
thing about all of this, was the heavy sense of silence. Not a
word was spoken. It was as if there were a group agreement that
we would all keep silence while in the temple. I went along
with this idea, and did not speak. After some time, I began
to notice a slight pull to my left, as if someone or something
were tugging at me. This "pulling" feeling became more and
more pronounced as time went on, and I suddenly had the
impression that something was attempting to pull me out of the
temple, that something did not want me in there. I mentally told
this thing to get lost, and leave me alone, that I was not leaving,
and it went away.
Suddenly the temple disappeared and I found myself in a space
that was occupied by sponge-like blobs. There were several of
them, and they were all different colors and sizes. Some were
about a foot in width, and some were a little larger. One of
them was about two feet in width, and it was orange colored.
The orange one seemed to be the leader. I tried to communicate
with it using my thought, and I think that it could tell that
I was attempting to communicate with it, because it came closer
to me. It seemed to be a friendly lifeform. Nothing much happened
though, and soon the blob-world faded away.
And then I did something that completely and forever altered
my life, as I had known it to be...
About an hour of real time had gone by, when I got what I
thought at the time, was a bright idea. I began to wonder how
my voice would sound, so I uttered the statement "Hello, is
anybody out there?" Well, as soon as I opened my mouth and
spoke, all hell broke loose. Prior to this, I was floating in
what appeared to be a nice colorful flow of pleasant looking
patterns that weaved in and out of themselves. As soon as I
vocalized the sentence, "Hello, is anybody out there?" the
pleasant space I was in disappeared and I noticed a movement
above me. I could feel a sense of amazed surprise coming
from what appeared to be a lifeform whose space I had
inadvertently entered into. This thing could not seem to
believe that someone else had actually found it. Well I sure
as hell did. Again I spoke and said, "Who's there?... Who are
you...?" Well that was the last thing that I said, because at
that moment, the area where the lifeform lived, lit up with an
intense white light that shot out and illuminated me. This light
was like an inspection light. The light itself seemed intelligent,
like the light emanating from the skylight, back in the temple.
The "lifeform" scrurried down to where I was. The impression
that I got, was not unlike an insect that gets caught in a
spider's web. When I vocalized my "hello," it was like my voice
was a movement on the web that let the spider know that there
was someone there, only it did not turn out to be a spider, as
I had thought.
The white light surrounded me and inspected me like no other
light I had ever encountered. It was as if I were under a
microscope, and I was being examined, only this "examination"
was more than just a physical examination.
