Hello! :)
It seems that there has been a bit of attention given to the subject of
sexuality and higher consciousness.
The view that I have given the most credibility to was given by Gopi
Krishna. This was a man who was believed to be enlightened and who lived
during this century. Because of this, I think his views were not easily
subject to misinterpretation.
The question was presented to him:
"What is the correct pro-creative behavior of someone in whom Kundalini is
active?"
And his answer was that the correct pro-creative behavior of a man in whom
Kundalini is active is that he must be more moderate than the 'normal'
human beings. The reason for this is that, in the evolutionary process, the
sexual fluids actually move upwards to work on the brain.
According to Gopi Krishna, the reason that religions recommended celibacy
was to conserve this energy because even a single seminal discharge during
a Kundalini awakening could be fatal. Furthermore, once the Kundalini
energy is active, these sexual fluids are consistently needed to feed the
evolving brain and therefore needs to be conserved by moderating sexual
activity.
Gopi Krishna also stated that, although it is up to the individual as to
whether to continue to engage in sexual activity, repressing it is
unhealthy because it goes against our own instinctual natures.
