Interesting dreams, John.. I would suggest that a good book on Jungian
psychology would be a very interesting read for you. You mention your fear
of loss of identity..but the sequence of the dreams suggest an identity
blossoming. A good way to understand the loss of identity associated with
K. is to consider the nature/nurture debate. Your individuality is in your
DNA, we are all born individual like snowflakes, but the aspects of your
identity that are the debris of cultural conditioning, behaviors you
adapted to get approval, will have to go, for the most part. You will be
better off without them, so no worries.
Building structures, particularly homes are usually symbolic of the body
of the individual, and the buildings in your dreams tell an interesting tale.
The first structure is a seedy hotel, which suggests the collective norm
of culture. Shared space. Many are standing in line, but you are chosen to
witness.. death and rebirth. Birds are symbolic of spirit, and the Shaman
passed his power to you. He is probably symbolic of your higher self, but
it could be a dreamtime initiation by a real Shaman.
The next structure is a tent.. a smaller group dwelling, made for
travelling, and now the Shaman has become the teacher-sage. Following that,
we have the residential area.. what do New Orleans and LA have in common?
Magic. New Orleans is known for voodoo and vampires, and LA is known for
movies.. illusions, projections of light. The "New Mansions represent the
"middle path" between these polarities. Your path.
The repeated references to diagrams suggests to me that you might want to
look into sacred geometry.. and explore deeper into your historical Pictish
heritage.. the stones are calling you, and it is good to get in tune with
the resonance of the place you live in.
The next dreams there is a union of opposites. The hotel unified the land
and the sea, underwater is symbolic of the unconscious depths. The train
station unified stillness and motion, the sarcastic man unified truth and
lies, and the fanged woman is your own feminine unconscious. You can sense
her presence but you cannot see her.. what happened next in the dream
unified you with her, and that is why your motor control improved.
She turned scary to see if you would love her unconditionally.. like in
the Faerie tales.
The psychics on top of a bus is insight in motion... you are not alone on
this journey.
Then a castle which is shaken to give way to a temple. Tunnels are
symbolic of the unconscious, the journey into the underworld. The theme of
the movie "local hero" was of nature's beauty VS human materialism. Nature
won, and so you proceeded lower, to the cozy pub *under* the shopping mall.
I'm a little fuzzy about what role your brother plays in these dreams,
but most likely it is not representing your real brother, but a refection
of you, your shadow side that is violent and destructive but also protective.
Overall, it sounds like you are having a wonderfully smooth, balanced
awakening.
