Hello everyone, I've just returned to the list after a year's absence.
I've really appreciated the diversity of experiences, advice and paths
seen here. So it seems fitting to add my piece of the puzzle to the
survey.... (good to be back)
Did you have a spiritual teacher or guru?
Yes, though it was a deceased author, a little-known Chinese Christian
mystic named Watchman Nee. (a postscript to this is that a very
powerful false guru tried to insinuate himself into that place- a
pattern I have witnessed many times- the false or the imposter appearing
before the arrival of the true.)
How long were you with him or her?
3 yrs. intensively about 20 yrs. ago. He has re-entered the picture
again in the last couple of years.
Did you receive shaktipat?
Is it ok to say yes- many times in several ways. Sometimes in sex,
celibacy, reiki, sending sexual energy skyward to the Unseen Lover. The
most dramatic and powerful instance occurred when I was doing nothing at
all (probably a major hint to me)
Was your relationship before, during or after K?
During
Accident or Design?
Ha! I have always been a voracious reader, but once I walked the aisles
of my favorite used bookstore in Halifax, Nova Scotia for 5 hours unable
to find anything of interest. I left. Returned. Walked for 2 more. Now
after having hitchhiked some 8 hrs. to get there, I was reluctantly
about to leave when my eyes fell on a small tattered paperback without a
cover. I snatched it up, read the opening lines and
knew I'd come home. (The Normal Christian Life-Watchman Nee) Don't let
the title fool you..
Was your relationship positive, negative, neutral or both?
Deeply positive, very experiential, cut deep, did not create enmeshment.
Connected me only to Spirit and Truth, set the stage for a freewheeling,
adventurous
growth beyond the confines. Also taught
well on discernment, which kept me from
many dicey as well as lesser spiritual encounters.
