Good Morning,
With all the hype about the eclipse I was more aware this night of the
nightime activities, or rather the lack of activity.
Here in Washington State, USA we didnt get to see the eclipse all we got
was a really dark night with no moon.
I felt heavy in my body, my energy lagged the whole night long. It wasnt
much, just enough to keep me at a leasurly pace, nothing wrong with
that.
It was unusually quiet. Silence.
I saw none of the wildlife that I am used to seeing - lately I have seen
the racoon and possum families but this night there was not a one. I
heard no barking dogs, saw no tomcats. I heard no gunshots, or sirens.
That may not seem too important to some of you, but in my neighborhood
gunshots and sirens are the norm, day and night... come to think of it
it is Wendsay, garbage day in this neighborhood - the dogs and cats are
usually out in numbers taking their pickings, perhaps they are observing
a fast in honor of the eclipse :)
It was a wonderful night, but the quiet did sometimes feel bit errie.
Just as the sky went from black to that blue-grey that it does just
before the sun acctully starts to rise, I heard the neighborhoods token
farm animal crow in the new day, he is a rooster that lives under the
protection of a "grandfather clause" in the law which allows his owners
to keep him in our fair city... It was still sooooo quiet that I heard
him from 7 blocks away (as the flys) this is an amazing show of
accustics for this area.
So, of corse the 1st thought in my head was "well, it looks like the sun
will rise today after all" and then remembered I'd better send off the
phone payment : ) I suppose all the hype did seep in just a bit... but
it made me laugh out loud all alone out there in the near dark.
Thats the second time this week I've heard the laughter of a mad woman.
I have been laughing alot these last few days : )
Well, there it is, now ya know, all is well and good here in the Pacific
Northwest.
