I tried to send this yesterday and it would appear to have been lost in the
ether. BTW, Dharma, did you get my reply to your reply about this? I sent
it about the same time, will resend if it did not arrive...
This is a bit of speculation on the eclipse chart for the Earth with 18
degrees Taurus rising:
With 18 Taurus rising that puts Saturn, the planet which best describes
logical cause and effect relationships, in a very concrete sign on the
Ascendant from the 12th house- very much relating to the form of things
becoming apparent, likely the forms hidden by collective agreeement from
conscious acknowledgement. IMO a lot of the crap in human society rising
into view (this may be the source of much of the ambient fear being
released), and I think also the Earth herself- which Saturn in Taurus also
strongly resonates with.
It is interesting to notice that 3 of the planets in the grand cross are
dignified; Uranus in Aquarius, Mars in Scorpio and the Sun in Leo and as
pointed out above Saturn is also very strongly placed. That the Sun and
Moon, both symbols of the self, will conjunct in Leo (ego :), and IMO Moon
problems are as often related to egomania as the Sun) adds further strength
to the dignities. It looks like these planets are very much being
themselves from positions of strength, this gives me a image of an
framework of components erupting from beneath a flimsy surface that was
taken to be the whole.
Using this chart the eclipse itself takes place on the nadir, which is also
symbolic of the Earth. The Sun and Moon conjunct on the nadir can be seen
as a trip to the underworld- all the more so because this is a solar
eclipse as well as the dark of the Moon. An image flashed before my mind's
eye of the solar eclipse as a type of beheading, of some type of seed being
released into the ground for future growth...
Mars is on the Descendant from the 6th house- a threat to health? AIDS,
especially as Mars is in Scorpio? Conflict becoming apparent/an attack on
the forms of things (symbolized by Saturn in Taurus rising)?
Uranus in Aquarius on the midheaven from the 9th- the Internet becomes more
respectable- maybe more international too? At least a shift in how it is
viewed- a more techy society? Possibly overshadows some sort of self image
on some level, being opposite the eclipse on the nadir?
Then is a T-square in addition to the cross, also in fixed signs. Mercury
in Leo 3rd opposite Neptune in Aquarius 9th squaring Jupiter in Taurus12th.
Possibly inflation (Jupiter) of subconcious (12th) matters (Taurus)- I now
have an image of constipation (IIRC Jupiter does rule the buttocks) and the
need to get all out- LOL. Mercury is in the sign opposite its exaltation
(can't remember if thats fall or detriment) but dignified by house- I
wonder if it is time for old ideas to fall apart, perhaps overbaked by the
heat of Leo/Sun, this probably relates to the beheading/seed image. Mercury
opposite Neptune would go nicely with the idea of dissolution, I see this
as the point of reference of thoughts dissolving, maybe this is a laxative
:). I think this T-square may represent fermentation/purging.
The chart ruler is Venus in Virgo 4th retrograde, this kinda makes me think
of Persephone (more underworld stuff). Venus is trine to Jupiter and so may
help in releasing the energies of the T-square, being in the 4th house
perhaps this means shit showing up at home? Venus is also exactly quincunux
, this may indicate a perceived, possibly grating tension between
everyday/home life/3d pleasures (Venus in Virgo 4th) and
universal/spiritual inspirations and aspirations (Neptune in Aquarius 9th).
Possibly people seeking to escape the material for the spiritual? Venus is
also square Pluto, may be a sort of fatal attraction- could tie into
Persephone, underworld stuff and also lead back to Mars in Scorpio- which
perhaps is the apparent form of the fatal attraction which maybe draws the
whole show into the underworld and blows things up?
