Hi Robert,
Your story reminded me of one of the experiences of my eldest son when he
was in highschool. In our country you have to study Dutch, English and at
least some years in French and German.
My son never had problems with his study, but from the day he opened a
German text-book he said: I'm never gonna do this!! NEVER!!!
At that time I did not understand that and because I had no problems with
the German language I tried to help him, but he decided not to learn one
word.
So his teacher phoned me, saying that he was worried about my son's results
and so on...
But nothing helped, my son did not learn one German word.
Then he started to write. My son always wanted to become a writer and he
started to write his stories in English. In fact, he could speak and
understand English almost before he could read his native language: Dutch.
Most of the time his stories took place in America. He looked in an atlas
and found some places that took his interest and he started to write about
the buildings, the environment etc.
Lateron he got some specific city plans and street maps of those places and
cities and I was very surprised, because everything he had written about was
really there: the buildings, the rivers etc.
The only thing he said was: I just knew that it was right...
Some months before his 20th birthday he said to me: I am very scared, I
don't want to become 20, I don't know why, but I don't want to be 20 years
old. That makes me very afraid for some raison.
In the summer-holidays, a month after his 20th birthday, he went with his
father to a part of our country where he had never been before and they went
to the Cemetery of American soldiers who had died in World War II.
There he became very emotional and in a flash he knew: "I have been a
American soldier and I died just here when I was still 20 years old".
That night the flashes of that life came back and he saw what had happened.
When he told me about this, I understood why he never wanted to learn one
word of the German language and why his stories were always situated in
America and why he had been so scared about the idea of becoming 20 years
old.
I think this is real past-life stuff, since he is still saying that America
is his real country while in this life he has never been there. He would
love to go there one day (and maybe won't come back...)
