  I found your post interesting. For me,*special* visions helped a lot.
I still tenderly and respectfully play them through my mind at times,,
still seeing new insights and fresh meanings. My two most important ones
were meeting the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The first encounter was not at a
very "spiritual" time in my life. I had pushed G*D aside and was totally
unworthy of the visit. It altered the very cells of my body.I have been
psychic since childhood so immediately knew this was "other", or
different. I was blessed.
  I do not now actively seek visions. It can be quite dangerous and one
can find themselves being a toy till the time comes when one can
distinguish between the Divine Presence and astral or whatever entities.

  Just little bugaboos. Have nothing to do with them. Separate the Real
from the unreal.
  I do like your thought of spending spiritual "currency".,,,,,,graces
that one has earned. But it is not our choice. Building up a nice
spiritual bank account while actively not seeking any visions and just
leaving it at,,,here I am. I like that.
