From: Jenell
On 1999/06/24 14:45, Jenell posted thus to the K-list:
Sorry, this is the first time i've encountered a list that works like
this on the reply postings. I'm on quite a few with other list services,
and it's just automatic, the email comes through the server, to reply,
you simply reply to sender. even though I had read instructions for this
list that are different, requiring the extra step of changing the
address to that of the list on reply emails, what has become so habitual
as to be automatic came into play as I'd finish up and just click up
there on 'reply' without thought until the thing had already flown off
into cyberspace.
Now, I think i've got it pretty well prgrammed into my short term memory
mental functions, but, must say that I don't think I need to
try to process into long term storage. The primary focus of this list
is not, from what has been posted since I signed on, is not what i had
hoped or expected.
I have no criticism of the study, practices, theory, etc, of Jungian
psychology, or the various Eastern ways of expressing the concepts,
teachings and swami's and guru's and k yoga and other practices with
intent to arouse/awaken the k, and whatever.
But most people dealing with k awakenings have expereienced spontaneous
awakenings, without either practice or even knowledge of those things,
and are struggling to understand what is happening to them and how to
deal with it. They have no background in those teachings, do not know
the various terms being used here, and used in a sense as if everyone
does or should know about them, etc. others that have found some frame
of reference for what is happening to them have done so in other
philosophies, other cultural contexts, such as shamanism. So much of my
own involves clearly shamanic features, expereiences of the
supernatural, both in context of 'ESP' type things, and those involving
'spiritual medium' realted matters, that has had to be my primary
resource. I am now well begun in learning to use healing energies that
have opened along with my k awakening, engage in soul work, other things
that are aparantly not a part of the expereience of those here.
When I posted the warnings to the one seeking actively to arouse k, my
intent was sincere, based not only on my own expereience, but some
knowledge and expereience gained over the past several years having been
involved in helping others in k crisis through the counseling resources
that I had been fortunate enough to find when I was in crisis myself. I
have in that devoted myslef to helping a number of others in crisis,
that sought counseling help there, in the role of a support person, and
a listener with the understanding of personal expereience with some of
the less than pleasant aspects, more confusing aspects, of k awakening.
Having done similar volunteer work connect to other kinds of crisis
situations, primarilt abuse/rape survivors, it was natural for me to
enter into this at this time.
I'm sure that the people on this list are discussiong their valid
experiences. However, it is not consistent with my own, or those of many
others I've come into personal contact with. That people on this list
do not seem to recognize the wide extent of difficulties people are
expereing with k crisis, responded to me as they did, with very rude
criticims, making fun of those things, can only leave me to consider
that what is being discussed here is NOT the same thing i and others in
crisis are dealing with. Beleive me, anyone that has expereienced or
dealt with others that have had some of the crisis situation could NEVER
tkae such an attitude toward them! Some of these people in crisis have
families putting them in mental hosptials! It's NOT an amusing matter,
and the 'difference' is NOT that people here are 'better' able to handle
something, etc, I've seen some VERY strong and 'together' people hit
crisis with k.
Someone here commented that if k hadn't torn someones life apart, I
think it isn't 'real' k, is a complete mis wording of what i DID say.
No, many with 'real' k do not expereience such things. But I can't
imagine anyone with personal experience or knowledge of it actually
belittling, making fun of, those that do, and the VERY REAL high
incidence of such k related difficulties. the perspective that seems to
prevail here of the difference being merely in how a person percives
things, how 'evolved' and uninhibited they are, etc, is way off the
reality of some of the things some people expereience related to k. They
would be traumatic and difficult for anyone.
No, these things cannot be applied to all expereiencing k, or to many
that have not expereienced what might be called a full blown raging of
k, a sudden, very powerful k arousal. It can be overwhelming for anyone.
Now, if i can find my way to the instructions for usubscribing, i shall
leave those on this list to discuss their own expereiences in their own
context. There seems little relevance to my own and that of others i've
come into personal contact with.
