Greta -- believe it or not, your post was most helpful to me because
I've been having a wild resurgence of symptoms the past few weeks and
I've felt I was back to where I was years ago when this all started for
me. Most disturbing to me is the paranoia (if I had any pride left,
this would embarrass me, being a therapist!) which I have finally
concluded is kind of an energy storm that comes through the mind and
expresses itself in ways characteristic of my prior history. I no
longer take the content personally in any way and just view it as
intense weather. There doesn't seem to be much point to worrying about
going crazy since none of it is in my control. I've also had to accept
the fact that my ability to deal with stress is a fraction of what it
used to be (this also used to be a point of pride -- notice a pattern
here?!). Yesterday got so bad I ended the day with a single malt
scotch and a pizza -- I gave up alcohol a year ago and don't like it
anymore. But my best remedy is a hot bath, which seems to conduct all
the energy away from the head. I slept 10 hours last night for the
first time in awhile. What helps me is to remind myself that there is
absolutely nothing wrong with me and however I get through this is okay
-- it's not "me" doing it anyway. Thanks for writing and hang in
