Dear k list -
All this talk of synchronicities and The Celestine Prophesy and reading tea
leaves has prompted me to respond. And heh, the gold finch have returned
this spring and a hummingbird just darted to its feeder that was just filled
two days ago - and the mourning doves were making their soulful noise when I
added thistle seed for the finches.
The other day I was picking up some papers from outside by the water
stove/furnace - wondering if I would ever break out of the deep funk I have
been in - and staring up from one of pieces of paper clearly printed in
white letters on an all black background was "the end is near". Tea
leaves - maybe i will try herbal tea leaves or does the caffeine help -
actually a few weeks ago - I was reading soap scum in the bath tub, soaking
in the tub full of hot water seems the best way for me to ground myself and
to get in touch with some serenity - given the hard water from the
spring/well, and well I found the soap was coalescing into shapes. Usually I
do not take any notice of such 'chaos'; but then that is what is so amazing
about synchronicities and how our minds focus and pick out certain aspects
of the environment to focus on, filtering out the rest. Well these shapes
were actually shoes and different types of shoes, my eyes stared at these
shapes and watched them move and form in front of me - i thought hmm, what
are all of these shoes - one shaped like that typical "there was an old lady
who lived in a shoe" story, one looked like one a genie or a court jester
would wear, with toes that curled up and another appeared like the old time
50s sneaker with a circle on the side. Actually I sketched the scene
afterward there were 5 shoes in all and one was isolated and closest to my
still body which was observing the scene until a drop of water from the
faucet went plop and the shoes started to change. I was almost going to
write it up and ask the list what does this mean (besides get a water
softener)- but then that seemed self-indulgent - oh well - interpreting
dreams is one thing but looking for meaning in soap scum, well that is how
my life is going.
