Dear List and Cher,

Today was Rick's funeral and I regret that I was unable to attend,
but I feel the need to say how much I will miss him.

I corresponded with Rick frequently off-list. He was present and
supportive for me when my life was going through personal and
spiritual transition. We shared much in common, though we never
actually met, as most of us have not. I also had spent the major
part of my life in Michigan, had received Shaktipat from the
wonderful Sri Anandi Ma, and had chosen Vajrayana Buddhism as my
spiritual path, as had Rick. He was someone that I could be
completely open with and who was always there with insight and
humor. I can only imagine the loss and the sadness that our friend
and fellow list member Cher is feeling, and the heartbreak of the
son he left behind.

With all of the untimely deaths and tragedies that we have been
facing these past few days and weeks, please let us also rembember
our friend, Rick. And please, when you think of him, please say
"Om Mane Padme Hum" to help him on his way to a favorable rebirth
or to liberation in the Bardo state.
